Questions
& Answers (Q&A) How
do you handle sound? A. We use professional quality wireless microphones. Other microphones are used to capture readers and/or musicians. Our "clip-on" wireless microphone is usually worn by the groom and picks up sound within 4 ft. The other microphones we speak of are long range "shotgun style" mics. These mics will pick up sound up to 40 ft and work better for music and readers. All mics we use are monitored during recording for proper volume and balance. After your day is over we will enhanced sound further in the computer during the editing process. Q. What kinds of music can I choose for the Timeless Treasures Movie? A. It's up to you. We encourage you to select music that means something to you and fits the pictures that it will accompany. Our studio request that you provide all music to be used (preferably on CD) and assume all responsibility in respect to copyright laws. We will help you with the music selection as needed. A. Many websites talk about how they can be obtrusive and can put guests on the spot. We do not force anyone to say anything and respect them when they want to give a message but need a moment to think of what they want to say. In our experience guest interviews are absolute treasures and are sometimes comical, especially ones from the bridal party. Guest interviews are what really help enhance the video and make them an enjoyment to watch, especially when watching them with your guest. Although we will try our best to cover a wide range of your guests, we reserve the right to conduct the interviews on a "best efforts" basis, since priority is given to coverage of the event activities. To sum up our answer to this topic, we would like to express that all the special effects and transitions in the world can't make up for a video without candid special moments with the ones you love and have invited to be with you on your special day. Guest messages bring just that to the video. At your request, we can refrain from conducting them if chosen. Q. Will I miss out anything by not having a raw version? A. No, The raw version is a non-professional piece of work that does not result in a quality viewing experience. For this purpose and for quality reasons, we do not produce un-edited versions. The un-edited tape is captured on a digital tape that is not viewable in consumer vcr's. The process to create this extra tape would incur unnecessary cost to the service. The edited version excludes "dead time" in which no activity is happening or people suddenly walking in front of the camera. Also taken out are the times when we have to move the camera in which case an alternate camera angle is used. Your finished video flows smoothly and looks more professional because of editing. As the "DVD era" draws near, we may include a few rough clips of some edited items as "bonus footage" under the assumption that it does not represent the main footage itself. Q. When will I get my finished videotape? A This depends on the time of year. With 80% of weddings occurring in May through September, you can expect about a weeks delay during this period to complete the production work. Normally the video takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete and the Timeless Treasures Movie is usually completed 1 weeks before your wedding. Q. What if I have to cancel, what is the deposit refund policy? A. For videography, your deposit of 50% is made at the time of booking. This deposit is refundable up to 60 days prior to the wedding with written notification. We must obtain a replacement booking for your date for the deposit to be refunded. For cancellations later than 60 days before the event, or cancellations that we are unable to re-book, the deposit is forfeited. Any deposit not refunded is always available for future credit with us for any video related services. Timeless Treasures has a 50% deposit that is due upon the first meeting in which we meet with you to collect your pictures/video. This deposit is nonrefundable because production begins on your movie within a few days after the first meeting. Changing your wedding date usually has no effect on this service Q. Can you send me a sample tape? A. It is our policy to not send out samples of our work. We prefer meeting our prospective clients in person and to show several samples of our tapes. This allows us to get to know you and for you to know us. This is a very personal service that we provide and we feel that we cannot deliver our best work if we do not meet the principal people involved in the event. We will soon be publishing web samples that you can download to help out customers that are located far away. As the digital era draws near, we will look at the possibility of sending out small samples CD's as they are less costly to mail and produce on a request basis. Q. How do you run the sound for the Timeless Treasures Movie? A. We usually run the sound through the DJ's sound system since it is already set up. If this scenario is not possible or you have a live band then we can make arrangements to use our own equipment to provide the adequate level of sound. Q. What do you need from me to create the Timeless Treasures Movie? A. See the "What we need from you" area in our Timeless Memories Section Q. What if my church has restrictions on video? A. It is the client's responsibility to find out if there are any restrictions on the videography wherever the events takes place, and to notify the studio well in advance. Many of the churches and synagogues have guidelines, such as no flash photography and no moving around during the ceremony. We strive to place a camera in a position which affords us a clear view of your faces during the ceremony. This is not always possible, because some churches restrict the camera position to a limited area. Unfortunately these areas are not always the best position from a camera mans point of view. Be sure to find out what is allowed before the day of the event and let us know, so we can discuss your particular situation. Forever Yours Media ask for access to the site 1 hour prior to the scheduled starting time in order to set up and test our equipment. Q. Can I make copies of my wedding video? A. Although it is illegal to copy a tape that has a copyright, we generally do not object to that, and do not treat duplication as a threat to our revenue source. But, we want you to know, that any copies that you make will suffer serious degradation. The colors will not be as vibrant and in overall there will be loss in sharpness. All of our copies are made either from our digital editing system or the Digital master to provide for the best picture quality. Our price is $15 for a high quality copy which covers the tape, the enhancement processor we run it through during duplication and our time. If you compare cost vs. convenience and quality, you can see an advantage. Q. Should I provide a meal for the videographer/s? A. We are on the job for sometimes up to 12 hours between the time we arrive at the ceremony and the time we leave the reception. It is a welcome courtesy if you provide a meal for the videographers, and to provide it quickly so that we are ready to work again at a moment's notice. It is very important to do this the same time as when the main course is being served. Q. Do you provide special services and do other events besides weddings? A. Yes, see Who
We Are
Q. Will you be distracting during our ceremony? A.
We go out of our way to be unobtrusive. We understand that your church
is not a "movie set". We allow you to enjoy your day at your
own pace and in your own style. Our job is to capture the events as they
unfold, as unobtrusively as possible. Q. Will you be video taping our wedding? A. Yes. We do not subcontract out . There will be no surprises as to who shows up to videotape your wedding. There is an exception to this. If you purchase the 3rd camera add-on, we will bring in a trusted individual to assist with that addition. Q. Do you have back-up equipment? A.
Yes! We have a back-up camera in the form of our second camera and backup
microphones and batteries ready to go at all times. A third camera also
offers extra assurance. Q. Will there be bright video lights everywhere? A. No, We may use a small soft light pointed down to lighten an activity that is taking place in a darkened area of the hall, but only if necessary. There is always a trade-off between the usage of lights and the technical quality of the video produced. Generally 95% of our dark filming is done with the camera's built in low light setting. This allows electronics in the camera to force more light into the lens. |
